Bride$hare

For those brides on a budget, I found out about this website called Bride$hare where brides can go and sell, borrow or find what they need. I went on the site about an hour ago and didn't really see anything I need. Probably because we've got most of the larger items completed already. It's just getting everything organized and picking who's in charge of what. But, this is still a great place to find things. I found a few wedding dresses that are being sold as well for only a few hundred dollars. Either way, check out Bride$hare if you want to save a few bucks. You may find what you need. Or even find another bride willing to split the costs with you.

Wedding Inspiration

Going back to my previous post about the tree centerpieces, I continued to look at her wedding pictures on flickr and she had some great ideas. Here are the few things that I love about her wedding. You can find all this on her flickr page. It brought out some ideas for our own wedding as well. We'll see if we actually go through with it.

Registry: Macy's

Last week, we got our very first wedding gift in the mail. Ira's friend decided to just mail it in to us. It was a happy surprise. Especially for me. I have to take it out of the box now and put it away. It's always exciting when we get something in the mail. We've been getting our response cards back too, which we've been excited over. It's all now falling into place.
Tools of the Trade Basic 4-Piece Mixing Bowl Set. Very excited to use when I make my next batch of cookies.

Centerpieces

You know, another cute and simple centerpiece that I found was from Offbeat Bride. It was just a piece of a tree and candles. The bride and groom just spent the time creating the table cards. Their cards were cute too because they wrote meanings to traditional wedding items. (Example: Why do bridesmaids were the same dress?) This was very clever. I love it! I'm telling you, sometimes the most simple things are the cutest.

Centerpieces

To go with our winery location, we're going to tie in the centerpieces to it. My cousins husband makes his own wine, so he's got quite a bit of wine barrels laying around the shed. He's going to cut it up into pieces for us. We're going to use that as the base for our centerpiece, add some dried grape vines, tie them together with ribbon and add fruit on top. Add some fruit leaves to it, add candles, maybe a few flowers, and poof! We've got ourselves our centerpieces. Very simple. Plus, our guests have extra things to take home and eat. Our sample doesn't look as nice as what we envision it will look like, but it still works. Simple, less work, and it matches the winery. Well, maybe we'll make the wine barrel pieces a little thicker. Either way, I think it's cute.

Pnina Tornai

Okay, so even though I have my dress, I'm still into that show Say Yes to the Dress. I saw one episode where they were having a Pnina Tornai runway show for her 2009 wedding dresses. I must say, they are pretty sexy dresses. There is one in particular that was the highlight of the show. Her Swarovski dress, which weighed about 8 lbs. and costs $45,000 dollars! This dress costs more than our whole wedding! Almost double! This picture doesn't do it justice. You should watch this episode on Hulu. You can't take your eyes off of it.

Invitations: Final

Invitations are complete! Well, most of them. We have a few that were not printed and found some that were missing while we were putting the invitations together. We're very happy with the outcome of our invitations. We're just hoping they don't come apart in the mail because the envelope is the invitation. They were only $0.61 each. I actually thought it might be slightly more.

Offbeat Bride

I'm addicted to this website, offbeatbride.com. They have tons of interesting ideas. I'm so addicted that I now am following them on twitter. Here's what I found...

It's the most interesting way I've seen an invitation made. I have no patience to do this though, but it's great!

Ohjoy!

I've become obsessed with this blog Ohjoy! She has great ideas and inspiration. I've found tons of cute little things on her website. She's got things from furniture, to clothes, to food. Some may be a little pricey, but it gives you ideas. I'm still bent on finding things at a reasonable price.
